Christianity as a religion , a faith or a way of life in recent years has been pretty much tough if I would say . It is indeed difficult to be a good Christian in this age than it ever was . The standards are dropping , deviation from the central core of believe, persecutions of Christians here and there , civil wars and a host of others tend to battle members in the Christian faith from time to time . However , these challenges are real, but not anything new to Christianity. Therefore Christianity become stronger due to the challenges facing it's very core. I feel that one of the biggest problem Christianity in Ghana is facing today is a lack of Biblical wisdom. Wisdom is defined biblically as knowledge or understanding (Proverbs chapter. 2), but it encompasses more than just grasping a concept intellectually . It also means discernment. Wisdom is knowledge properly applied.
Many in Christians today in contemporary Ghana have faith without seeking proper knowledge of that faith . At some point , then , their belief becomes emotionalism without reason and substance . They take the view that Christianity is the "right" religion and all the other ones are "wrong" that they are OK and do not have to worry anymore . This emotionalism is dangerous for many reasons , but two that I want to focus on specifically are how it allows heresies into the church and how it damages our witness to those outside the church . Heresies are believes or opinions contrary to the orthodox religion and as in this case, Christianity . Because many have thought that faith alone is good enough to sustain the Christian
