Fashion Designers are starting to become more popular. More and new upcoming designers are trying to become well-known and have their name written in history. Many designers have accomplished just that, however to get out there successfully it’s very hard. Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel, also known as Coco Chanel is a famous French fashion designer, who took a risk and succeeded to become a famous fashion designer who made a change in the fashion industry (Coco Chanel, 2014). Coco Chanel’s rise to fame and how she got famous is very interesting, the Chanel brand now has grown a lot and how the Chanel brand is getting inspirations to make new and trendy clothing is all because of the new designer Karl Lagerfeld (Coco Chanel, 2014).
Born on August 19, 1883 in Saumur, France Coco started her life living in an orphanage (Coco Chanel, 2014). As said in a biography named Coco Chanel (2014), she was raised in an orphanage, and that is where she learned how to sew, her mother had died and wasn’t able to teach her those skills. In the orphanage nuns taught her how to sew and later on in her life, she started her singing career and that was where she got her nickname “Coco” from (Coco Chanel, 2014). She died on January 10, 1971 at the age of 87; however her memory and great fashion designs are still remembered and appreciated today (Coco Chanel, 2014). Chanel just didn’t get famous overnight; she worked very hard for what she was passionate for and succeeded by becoming a world-wide famous fashion designer (Coco Chanel, 2014).
