Kendra Cherry addresses in the article that many people assume that the older men and women get sexuality becomes important. (http://www.weegy.com/?coversationId=BD725f85) She states that that is clearly a myth or theory. Expert Kendra Cherry states that elderly people may not be as aggressive as young people are during sex, but the desire is still there, even into their late eighties. Kendra addresses the change of sexuality in men. As men and women age changes in sexuality takes place.
The article states that men and women face different concerns in sexuality as they age (http://www.mentalhelp.net/poc/view_doc.php?type=doc&id=29724&cn=10). Kendra Cherry addresses the changes in men. One of the main concerns men as they get older is that men can’t get an erection, or that it may take longer to receive an erection then a young male adult. Men young and old will suffer from impotence which is not being able to receive an erection at all at least once in their lives.
The article states that women go through a menopausal phase at about age 40-45. Menopausal women can lead to changes in women’s sexual drive. Women who are menopausal become less sensitive to touching and are not easily aroused, which can lead to less interest in sex. (http://www.m.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/sex-menopause). The article addresses the lower levels of estrogen which can cause a drop in blood supply to the vagina. The vagina can then be too dry for sex because it becomes uncomfortable. WedMd discusses factors that may influence a woman’s sex interest during menopause and after which includes bladder control problems, sleep disturbances, depression or anxiety, stress, medications, and health concerns.
