Using a fake name can be useful. Especially if you are an author or a journalist. Using a fake name helps authors everywhere became published. In the article “What’s in a Name,” by E. Bennet, the author states “ Sometimes they’re even more useful when they’re fake—especially if you’re a writer.” People use fake names to keep their real identity a secret or to make people think different.
Imagine writing in the 1900’s. How about the 2000s’? Different eras had different views on who wrote what. In this article Robert writes to Charlotte Brontë “ It is not my advice that you have asked as to the direction of your talents, but my opinion of them; and yet the opinion may be worth little, and the advice much.” Many women had the talents to write.
