Changing Her Husband's Name Analysis

Out of tradition and respect a woman should change her last name when she marries. However, there should not be a law to mandate a woman to change her last name. Just because you take your husband’s name does not mean ownership, nor do I believe one loses their identity when they take their husbands name. A woman taking her husband’s name binds that family together.
It is becoming less common for a woman to change her last name when she marries.
