Reading this story always poses confusion to me,and running into hurdles by virtue of confusing the relation of one man to another and so did time. But regardless of these difficulties which making me understand the story roughly, something useful which can not be ignored touched me deeply.
In chapter XXV of David’s sorrow,Absalom,David’s beautiful son,who looked handsome from the crown of his head to the soles of his his feet but in fact was wicked and false, attempting to be the king by contemptible ways, finally failed in the fight of competing throne. In the middle of this passage,Absalom killed his brother cruelly, deceiving his father by paying a vow to the Lord, and finally,he was cast off by his people. By way of contrast,Joseph, the
lad who was sold to be a slave by his brothers, was so tolerant that he forgave his brothers after they had done so many wick things on him. Aren’t we supposed to be united and amicable to our family members? Shouldn’t we cherish this beautiful relationship? Being wealthy and powerful are enviable, but when you are upset and lonely, what you really need is not wealth and power, but care from others. Consequently, what deserves our preference is not money and power, but the real beautiful relation of one man to another.
As to Elijah, the prophet, who took the sick son of the woman up to his room and laid him upon his bed, praying God to save his life,in my view is quiet kind. Nowadays, people who would like to give others a hand when they are in trouble are quiet few. One man once said,on every occasion he came across someone especially the old who fell on the ground,he was in confusion whether lend a hand or not because the person was apt to check.
For all the terrible phenomena I talked, the only way to deal with these is trust and we are supposed to spare no effort to trust each other.
