INTRODUCTION
Background of the Study Computerization is a control system that manages processes in industrial workplace. It reduces human errors and processing time, thus it can boost productivity and result into high quality of product produced. In Information System, computerization is concerned about interrelating different but interdependent transactions. This can result in a system with well-integrated processes that can perform faster and more accurate than a manual system.
Enrollment is the process of entering and verifying data of student to register on a particular school. Different interrelated processes build up enrollment procedures called Enrollment System. Enrollment Systems (ES) are used particularly in recording and retrieving student’s information. Tracking student’s information is also one feature of ES, in which the school can trace the standing of a student. Enrollment System is a good example of a computer generated process. The Computerized Enrollment and Student Record System that the researchers have proposed is for the school, Philippine Scholastic Academy. It was established at August 7, 1917 under the name of Quiapo Anglo Chinese School at Echague, Quiapo Manila. In 1924, the Quiapo Anglo became an extension of Chinese National School in Binondo. The school had its formal opening in a building at Villalobos St. in Quiapo in July, 1945. Due to an order from the Ministry of Education Culture and Sports in the Filipinization of Chinese Schools, the school became Quiapo Community High School in 1975 but in 1988 the former name was changed to Philippine Scholastic Academy. The school is privately owned and managed that still uses a manual system of enrollment and a manual system in monitoring their student’s records. Through the interview that the researchers have conducted with some faculty and students of the school, the proponents have learned that the manual system of enrollment is slow and very time consuming
