Early on, Atticus has to show his courage and teach his kids. Even after Tom is found guilty Atticus does not give up, even though there are costs to it. “... Mr. Bob Ewell stopped Atticus on the post office corner, spat in his face, and told him he’d get him if it took the rest of his life”(Lee 217). Atticus loses the case but is determined to prove Bob Ewell guilty, even though Bob is wanting to encumber him. Atticus has the courage to never give up because he knows Bob is guilty, and he owes it to Bob’s innocent daughter to save her from her father.
Atticus undoubtedly shows the most courage in Harper Lee’s, To Kill a Mockingbird. He takes the hardest tasks and hits them head on. He puts himself in danger to stand up for what he believes in, and he is relentless. Atticus proves countless and remarkable accounts of courage. Atticus Finch sets an example of courage for all of mankind, showing us all what courage really is. What is courage to
