Character Analysis Of Bryan Stevenson In 'Just Mercy'

The character from Just Mercy who has grown and evolved over the course of the story, or from the time we met them is Bryan Stevenson. When we first met Bryan Stevenson in “Just Mercy” he was all nervous about becoming a lawyer and talking to people in jail or prison about there cases or executions. When Bryan Stevenson first started his internship there was a man named Walter McMillian which was Bryan Stevenson first client. Before Bryan even met Walter, he was trying to rehearse his lines to tell Walter he wouldn’t be killed next year. On page 7 it says “I continued practicing my presentation until I pulled up to the intimidating barbed-wire fence and white guard tower of the Georgia diagnostic and Classification Center. Bryan Stevenson
was very nervous but when time evolved he has change he felt more secured and every time he had case he wasn’t nervous as he was the first time with Walter McMillan. But now Stevenson growth is positive because been helping people that are put on death row and he get them out of that situation. When Bryan started his first case with Walter McMillian it lead him to growth and evolution because he realize things were unfair for people in death row. in page 13 it states my short time on death row revealed that there was something missing in the way we treat people in our judicial system, that maybe we judge some people unfairly. Who ever is the reader that is reading just mercy can learn from Bryan Stevenson that there are bad things in the world like discrimination but a person can change that meaning that Bryan Stevenson is slowing bringing down the hatred but it takes time. Bryan Stevenson past help us understand his action and beliefs because he been through sad and disappointing case in the past and still in the present but he still work hard to defeat the cases he working on.
