Harper Lee uses Mrs.Dubose as a character to show courage. She uses Mrs.Dubose as one of Atticus’s example to show Jem what real courage is. A part that shows this is when Mrs.Dubose is sick in bed and Jem comes and reads to her and Atticus explains the situation she is in.
