Character Summary And Character Analysis: Avery

1) With which character do you identify most so far? Why do you need to be a member? The character that I most identify with so far is Avery Stafford. She seems to know how to work with the different crowds. When she’s in front of her fathers crowd, she knows how to make herself look professional. My mom is well known so when I used to go to much smaller events with her, I would also try to look more ‘mature.’ Avery also says something on page 7, about comparing herself to her father. I have a very bad tendency to compare myself to my parents/family members. Unfortunately, Avery's father has colon cancer, so they did Christmas pictures early, just in case. She's scared of what is going to change or happen. I understand that fear because I live with someone with cancer.
But I also feel like I'm reminiscing about the older lady named May, because she's the kid that rushes in to see her dying mother and yells at her father to get her to a doctor. She even took care of her siblings the best that she could. Even though she had many emotions, she had feelings, she was able to keep her brain together and get things back together. I feel like when everything is chaos I'm normally more calm than anyone else around me, or I try to at least. 2) Based on what you've read so far, what are you wondering? I'm wondering why May thinks Avery is a person named Fern? It almost seems like May knew Avery, but May is an older woman compared to Avery. I also wonder why the older lady (May) storyline in the book? I also know nothing about his book, except what I've read. 3) What questions do you have for your group
