Characteristics Of The Army Profession

Army Doctrine Reference Publication does not define the Army Profession as one specific characteristic, but a multitude of dynamic characteristics that as a collective outline what is expected of us and entrusted to us by the nation in which we honorably defend. These essential characteristics are the foundation of the Army Profession, they are the cornerstone to the Army Values and, as a professional in the military, they can never be forgotten.
As an Army Professional we are expect to be experts in our field. We must do so in an honorable fashion as to earn the trust of our nation to do what is right legally and morally without the influence of leadership, we must be an autonomous entity within our own ranks and make decisive decisions
