Charlotteville Case Study
Charlotteville is a small, and peaceful fishing village lying on the northeastern point of Tobago on Man-o-war Bay. The government of Trinidad Tobago had proposed to put a mall in Charlottesville right by the water. The government thinks that the mall will bring many more tourist to Charlottesville and that Charlotteville will make lots of money. The government is only thinking about E (economy) on the sustainability compass. The government is not thinking about the villagers. Charlotteville is a very peaceful village, by putting a mall, it would not be peaceful anymore. The idea of the mall does not support the sustainability compass, for one reason, there will be a huge destruction of land and the government did not plan on using renewable …show more content…
The green school will be a rural development for Charlotteville. The green school will benefit the nature on the compass point because the structure of the school will be made out of bamboo and recycled materials, and the green school will be using all their source of electricity from tidal wave power to power the whole entire school. The turbine will be placed in the sea of Charlotteville. The turbine will capture the power of waves and tides and converts it into clean, pollution-free electricity. The tidal wave power will not only power the entire green school, but it will also power the whole villages’ homes. It is one of the top renewable resources. The green school will cost around $5 million TT. As the structure will be bamboo, this saves plenty of money as compared to concrete and bricks would have been very high in cost. We will be asking the government for a loan of the 5 million to build the school. The income that the school makes will pay the government back for the loan in a reasonable amount of time, 10 …show more content…
There will be new discoveries about the Green School for everyone in the village. This school will not affect the nature as the structure will be bamboo, it will impact the society as the school will offer many jobs, and this school will make a huge income for Charlotteville of hundreds of thousand dollars each year. We are not only asking the government for the loan for the land, and the Green School. We will be asking some non-profit organizations to help with the cost in exchange for getting to work with the Green School, in ways that will benefit them. We would just be very greatful if the government helps with the cost of renewable energy that is being involved, so it would be our tidal wave

Well, if I was in charge of the project in the city of Ridleyville. I would build a business complex upward to save pace and also build a small size park on the riverfront. However, the reason I choose this decision is because businesses brings other business which will help the economy grow. Also, increase the amount of parkland and open space in the city, especially in the downtown riverfront area. For the city to stay economically sustainable, you need jobs. Also, with the base being close down, that will decrease the job rate in Ridleyville. So the city will have to put something in that area to fill that gap. However, making this decision will help address the growing budget deficit. By building a business complex would lower unemployment rates and increased economic growth reduce the need for government-funded programs such as unemployment insurance and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).If the city can get the small portion of open space through tax incentives, they can build a park on the open space.…

Then, they went to the segregated lunch counter, at the same store, and were refused service. The lunch counter staff refused service to the young men, per the store policy, and the manager asked the young to leave. The young men staid until the store closed. 1. In the midst of the 19th century, following the industrial revolution, many cities began to grow at an unprecedented rate. Due to this growth, sanitary concerns arose in the serried inner city. Locations including London, Chicago, New York were unable to appropriately house and provide infrastructure for their booming populations. In America, the preponderance of the slum inhabitants were immigrants, leading to increased marginalization compared to other locations, such as London. The health concerns burgeoning with the population boom led to a requirement of state intervention to prevent further spread of disease. During this time, the innovations of Edwin Chadwick, the designs of Frederick Law Olmstead, and the observations of Andrew Mearns…
