Cheating good or bad
Cheating, Good or Bad? The question is cheating good or bad can only be answered by opinions of people on the topic rather than exact yes or no question which causes a discussion on it. This question itself has created many famous theories by a number of famous philosophers. Many young players believe that cheaters will win the game mainly because they’ve always been taught do whatever it takes to win. Cheating in a sports game is bad because of the negligence of rules, sportsmanship, and character. Rules are found in every sport game whether they be very effective rules or rules that don’t really have a major impact on the game, but at the end of the day they are all rules. As a young kid we were all taught to follow the rules if there is any and that crosses over into sports. If people created rules for a sport then obviously they did it for a reason and it should be taken seriously. With there being rules that don’t have a major impact or an immediate impact on the outcome of the game some people think it is ok to simply break the rules and cheat to better themselves or their team. One may get away with breaking a rule and think its ok then later on in the same game or in another game they try to do the same thing and they get penalized for it or something of that nature. In many sports there are some things you can do to not break the rules but more like bend the rules, what I mean by that is for example to save time in a basketball game towards the end a team may foul a lot to save time and try to win but in the game of basketball it isn’t against the rules to foul on purpose. Therefore they technically aren’t breaking the rules but simply bending them to win the game. This happens every day in sports in many different ways and some believe that rules don’t really have to be followed fully, which is outrageous. This country was built on rules and so was every sport that’s been created. Sportsmanship is a huge factor in today’s athletes and

Imagine a football game with linebackers roaming free. Standing their ground and not letting anyone get past them, lighting up anyone who comes near. A game where cornerbacks are allowed to be physical beyond five yards. Safeties are able to run full speed and do the job they were meant to do by putting their helmet on the football. Receivers are able to do whatever they need to do to shake off their defenders. Imagine defenses not having to worry about flags or fees for playing the game the way it should be played. Instead receivers run around the football field freely, paying no attention to the defenders because they aren’t allowed to hit a defenseless receiver. Football games shouldn’t have strict defensive rules because players don’t have to be as tough, defenses have to play slower, and it changers the result of the game.…

It has always been said, "baseball is America 's pastime." However, in recent years, baseball has become increasingly more associated with cheating and scandals. In the article "Cheating and CHEATING," by Joe Posnanski, the author discusses his view on cheating. Posnanski tells us how he believes cheating has lived in baseball since its creation, stating that, "there never really was a beautiful game called baseball" (559). He said steroid use, amphetamine use, and stealing signs are actions that have all been used at different times since the start of the game. Posnanski 's article comes in response to Pete Hamill, a writer for The New York Times, who believes that baseball only became a drug filled game in recent years; however, as Joe Posnanski shows us in "Cheating and CHEATING," baseball has always been dirty.…

Cheating damages the trust in the relationship the most. Trust is the foundation to any relationship and once that rust is broken, it is hard to rebuild that trust again. After your partner finds out about your infidelity, he or she will go through an endless cycle of emotions. One day he or she will blame you and the next day blame themselves. Cheating also damages a person's self-esteem. Your partner will start to question his or her…

The sports world influences a lot of protection. They make new rules every year to be safer. Some people think that it's bad some say its good. For now the rules are good but later on it will cause future problems. “It’s certainly accepted as part of the culture that you game the system as much as you possibly can, and if you don’t get caught, it ain’t cheating,” said Stephen Mosher, a professor at Ithaca College who studies sports ethics. Many professional players explore gamesmanship,if not secretly, blatantly and it is sometimes brushed off as harmless and acceptable. Then there are times that strategies are genuinely cheating and despicable. Many people argue that gamesmanship corresponds with cheating, and that other people identify both as two different entities. I classify gamesmanship as its own creature, but share a symbiotic relationship with cheating. Gamesmanship relies on the knowledge of the rules and sometimes dipping its feet into the…

For instance, different sports organizations have tried to put different rules in the game in order to lessen a number of head injuries that take place on the field. The NFL and many other organizations have altered the rules dealing with impact to the head. Recently, the National Football League has changed one of their rules of head contact; “It is a foul if a runner or tackler initiates forcible contact by delivering a blow with the top/crown of his helmet against an opponent when both players are clearly outside the tackle box” (Marvez, Alex). It is the NFL’s job to protect not only the person that is being tackled but also the person that is doing the act of tackling. Periodically changing the rules of the game is how the NFL is finding ways to prevent head…

The main reason I play sports are to become better at the game. By cheating you skip the whole journey of self-improvement and by doing that you skip the process of becoming a better player. Cheating is for people who want quick results and don’t want to experience the discomfort of doing the journey of becoming a better athlete. Cheating instead makes you a better player for a while until you get caught, which then you regret ever cheating in the first place. Even if I don’t get caught and nobody knows what I have done, I will always know and I will feel bad for having to resort to dishonesty just to win…

Recently, the idea of cheating has gotten much attention in the world of sports, entertainment, and politics. Many celebrities have been accused of gaining a competitive edge through dishonest means. While cheating has mainly been publicly condemned, there are many that feel there are times when cheating can actually be a way of making things better. They believe there is nothing wrong with making yourself a better athlete, entertainer, or politician if what you have done makes the event more entertaining, or assists the greater good. Clearly, cheating has not got anyone anywhere in life. There are always consequences when cheating. Some people may put it in their heads that it's allowable, when in reality, not one significant achievement comes from it. Many will disagree, but I completely agree that cheating is unacceptable. You'll never get away with what you think you will, whether it's cheating on a test, in a relationship, or during a sports…

I think that the “Spirit of the Game” could also affect many sports such as basketball, tennis, and especially soccer. Basketball is a simple enough sport that can incorporate the value of trust into it. If every player only runs, scores, and shoots, then there should be no use for fouls. If a person fouls, then the other player can accept it, and the fouled player can take a foul shot. In tennis there is not much use for calls or fouls anyway, so if a tennis player was to cause a bad play, then he could admit to it, resulting in the other player’s ball, or gaining of points. Since soccer is also a simple sport, a player only needs to run, pass, and shoot. If a foul was to be committed, then again, the other player could accept it, and the fouled player would receive a penalty shot or other penalty.…

Actions as such in a sporting society may involve hatred and physical contact as means of motivation, treatment by coaches and actions from spectators that would be rejected as the norm in another social world. Athletes usually commit to accept advice from important people in their lives without questioning them, and it is overconforming to these norms that can result in an athlete being too committed to the goals and norms of sport usually leading to extreme actions.…

Cheating is the worst thing a parent could do, especially if they have children. You might think to yourself, “Nah, my child is doing great in life, even though they know that my husband slept with a woman.” Are you serious? Do you really think children like us do not get affected by the mess that is caused in a relationship? Of course we do! We live with you, remember? We see things and hear things. We know exactly what’s going on. Just because I choose to stay in my room for hours does not mean that I am not consciously aware of what is going on around me. When it comes to divorce, I will likely end up being involved. If the police were to get involved in the mess because one of you crazy lunatics decides to do something bizarre, again, I will likely be involved. Divorces that are caused by cheating will affect children as they get older, especially if they are teenagers. It will affect their school life, the way they think about the parent that cheated, and their future. As a teenager myself, this issue can lead to a variety of problems throughout our lives if you are one of those parents with relationship issues because if anything happens to us, it’s on you.…

There’s an old saying that rules were made to be broken. As a general rule I wouldn’t agree but there are exceptions to every rule and when it comes to all the things we should and should not do which litter our lives as to what is good for us and what isn’t, there’s more than one ‘rule’ which deserves to be broken. If rules weren't broken advances would not have been made within society. Sure rules such as not killing someone make sense. But if the African Americans had not have broken the rules to achieve equality where would they be today? Rules are placed to tighten people, and yes if they weren't there, the society would be crazy, but there are so many rules today that are not fair, and for society to see it differently, we need someone to break the rules.…
