Above all, I look forward to increasing my leadership skills, but without a starting point, I would have never become the leader I am today. I have been a cheerleader for five
years, and I have dreamt of being a cheerleader since I was six years old. Even though tumbling, stunts, and chants are fun, I never expected cheerleading to affect me as much as it did. I have been granted great opportunities, met new people, and created smiles on peoples faces as I cheered on my team both on and off the field. Over the years of cheerleading i have realized that it’s not just for the sidelines. It important to cheer and be happy everywhere to encourage spirit in every aspect of life. For example, when cheerleading, I love to see the beaming and awed faces of the younger girls leaned against the fence next to the sidelines on Friday nights. I am grateful to have the opportunity to inspire these little girls and to be a role model for them. In addition, I also am able to be a leader in my school. School spirit is most important because it promotes motivation, and more importantly pride. Pride in your school. Pride in your team. Pride in yourself. Pride is very crucial. It informs us of our potential, gives us confidence, and inspires us to try for success. I am very proud to say that I have had the chance to promote pride within individuals at my school and in my community
Furthermore, I am also a member of student council and I am very thankful and proud to say that my position has allowed me to become closer with my classmates as I represent their ideas. By being eleventh grade class representative, I am able to give the students in my grade a chance to share their opinions and inspire them to take part in decisions to improve our school. All of my life I have been taught to speak out and to be confident. Many teens in today's society are insecure and have been bullied into thinking that they are useless, insignificant, or empty. Thanks to my position as class representative, I have the privilege to motivate students to believe that they have a voice that counts. It’s crucial that the youth understands that they have the power to make a difference and that they have a purpose in life. If I were to never discovered my purpose, I would have never acquired my leadership skills and become the person I am today.
Ultimately, I am forever grateful that I am able to take part in the things I do today. On account of being a cheerleader and student council, I have been granted many experiences that have led me to advance in my leadership skills and taught me to be a better person. With that, I am able to be positive, driven, and influential throughout my community and hopefully one day, throughout the world.
