I always hoped that one day I would become a professionally soccer player. Soccer is a game that is played on a rectangular field with net goals at either end in which two teams of 11 players each try to drive the ball into the other's goal by kicking, heading, or using any part of the body except the arms and hands. The goalie is the player who may touch or move the ball with the arms or hands. In the soccer, each of the eleven players on a team is assigned to a particular position on the field of play. You can either play, a goal keeper, a defender, a midfielder or a striker. A goal keeper or a goalie as it is often plays a defensive role in the game, they guard the team's goal from being breached. Goalkeepers are the only players allowed to handle the ball with their hands. Defenders also play a defensive role, they play behind the midfielders and their primary responsibility is to provide support to the goalkeeper, and to prevent the opposition from scoring a goal. Midfielders are players whose position of play is midway between the attacking strikers and the defenders. Their main duties are to maintain possession of the ball, taking the ball from defenders and feeding it to the strikers, as well as dispossessing opposing players.
