How To Play Soccer Essay
Soccer or football is a sport that is played primarily with the players’ feet with the exception of the goalkeeper who can use their hands. The first game of soccer can be found back in 1858 in Melbourne Australia. Soccer is a tough sport to play you have to know the history and rules of it and have the know how to play. To play right back on a soccer team you have to know when to move and where to move on the pitch. For example if the ball is on the left side of the pitch on a team’s half a right back player would have to drop behind the center back for extra defense against the other team. Another example would also be if a player on the opposite team confronts the right back defending they would need to go up to them and have a defensive stance 2 feet away. This stance would either push them to the side of the pitch towards the line or depending on how close they …show more content…
For a throw in to occur the ball must go out of bounds on wither sideline on the pitch. To take a throw in both feet must stay on the ground and the person must throw the ball with both hands over their head. Another rule is if the ball goes out of bounds on either team’s goal line a corner kick is taken. A corner kick is taken by placing the ball on the corner, which the ball was closest to when it went out. A player can also tackle a person that has possession of the ball, but the player tackling must come in contact with the ball before hitting the player with the ball. Also if a foul occurs in the penalty box, which is a box that stretches from the goal eighteen yards long and forty-four yards wide there is a penalty kick, which means the ball is placed in a marked spot twelve yards away from the goal. Another rule is a player can be offside if they are behind the other teams last defender, (not including the goalie). Also the ball is placed for the team not receiving the foul where the player was called

Another step to learning to play soccer is having good ball control. In soccer, ball control is everything; you will never be a good soccer player if you do not learn to control the ball. Learning to control the ball will be one of the most difficult tasks you will encounter while learning to play soccer. It will also be time consuming, but you must be patient and dedicated because this is an arduous objective. When you are approaching this feat I recommend juggling the ball, which is maintaining the ball in the air for as long as possible. This exercise will help you trap the ball when you are in a game. For example, players sometimes kick the ball away from the danger zone, so if the ball goes to you, you must trap the ball.
