Cheetos Puffs
I never should have trusted that cheetah. The shades he wore and his composure made him seem trustworthy and “cool” in my eyes, especially on the bright orange and blue bags of delicious Cheetos Puffs. It was a snack I have enjoyed since I was a child, emphasis on had. For on that day, August 30th, 2016, Cheetos betrayed me. After nineteen years of enjoying its cheesy goodness, it finally tells me I am allergic to it in the most brutal way imaginable. This is the story of how I found out I had a food allergy, and how I still do not know exactly what I am allergic to. I was approaching the snack machine in my local library to purchase a snack that would tide me over until dinner. I came across a very familiar sight: a bag of Cheetos Puffs. I paid the seventy-five cents and got myself this delicious favorite comfort food. I enjoyed every last puff, from its cheesy taste, to its crunch, and even to its dusty residue that it always leaves on my fingers. However, after I finished the small bag, I felt a strangling sensation …show more content…
He said what my Mom said; do not eat Cheetos anymore. Then he pulled out his phone and looked up ‘allergic reactions to Cheetos’. After researching, we discovered Cheetos were not the only thing that betrayed me; Doritos, Cheez-Its, and Kraft Macaroni and Cheese all shared the same ingredient as Cheetos: yellow dye #6. As much as I loved all of these things, I decided I did not love them enough to be sad I would not eat them ever again. There were plenty of snacks I liked that did not have artificial yellow coloring, so why worry? But at the same time, I discovered that M&Ms and Skittles also had this dye and I absolutely could not accept that. It also struck me as very odd that I had never had a reaction like that to Cheetos or any of the other cheesy snacks, or M&Ms before. I thought there had to be an explanation for that, so I asked my Dad if I could take an allergy

In this essay, Ann Hodgman was very descriptive on the revolted taste of dog food as well as the vividly unpleasant details of its unusual texture. Hogman gave me some sort of understanding of the texture of dog food, when she compared Gainers burgers to play doh and unexpectedly she made little cheese birds out of dog food, which I'm assuming the patty was grainy, smooth, and lumpy. When she explained the horrifying taste of cheddar, a very strong taste of week old cheddar in my tough , along with the feeling of play doh in my mouth, it turned my stomach, and the feeling that something like a burning sensations building up in my throat. I was very disgusted at the abnormally, when the patty was not evening cooking like a ordinary burger, which…

This essay delves into the fact that food has no age limit and shouldn’t. With the sentence “Life is too short to deny oneself the simple pleasures that bring joy and satisfaction,” Chat rejects the narrative that you can outgrow things you enjoy. I assume this would persuade several of the desired demographics and more because it erases the stigma around “outgrowing” foods. Moving on to the negatives, ChatGPT makes multiple claims about Hot Cheetos being unifying and enjoyable, but provides no means to explain how or why. For example, Chat continuously states phrases similar to “promises a thrilling journey with every bite," but without concrete examples, the statements are not credible and seem exaggerated and baseless.…

At first it was seen as a simple and innocent creation, but later on took a toll on the children. I was able to discuss the Hot Cheetos topic with my cousin Guadalupe and understand the effects these chips caused her. At first she did not feel any sort of symptoms or pains, but little by little, she began experiencing a pain in her stomach. She began throwing-up everything she ate, right after eating the chips. She would spend sleepless nights getting up and down, just to throw up, because Hot Cheetos irritated her stomach way too much! “As soon as I ate Hot Cheetos, I would feel my stomach begin to burn up, but I did not understand why. If everyone else could eat them, why couldn’t I. Sometimes I wondered if I was the only one.”Clearly she wasn’t the only one, and her stomach pains had a…

It’s complexity and creases of age, embody the qualities of both our known and unknown pasts. Our history. While the oxford dictionary defines history as the study of past events, particularly in human affairs, my recent further analysis of our past and present world has entirely dismantled the idea that history can be defined by a statistical record of events, dates and figures but has rather enlightened me to the inability to restrict the idea of ‘history’ to one definition.…

The summer of 2007 my mother sent my sisters and me to Puerto Rico. We stayed with my Grandma Elsa, she was the coolest, like Elsa from Frozen. My great grandmother, Abuela Feline, lived in a small house underneath Grandma Elsa’s house. Abuela Feline was the best cook you could ever imagine, she was the witch from Hansel and Gretel, but significantly less murderous. Every morning there were bowls and bowls of rice, plantains, and quenepas. Five year old me was never really that picky when it came to food. I would eat anything ranging from Goldfish to scrumptious dirt pies I ate in my backyard. I loved food, I mean I still do, but not as much. I used to eat anything I could get my hands on, but there was one dessert my tastebuds could not agree with, Limber. More specifically Limber de Coco. What exactly was it? It’s similar to ice cream and a snow cone mixed together with coconut milk. That little cup of heaven seemed to screech my name every time I opened the freezer door.…
