Did you know that 1.8 million kids are being trafficked and taken to work on cocoa farms? First, kids from ages five to sixteen are being forced to work in cocoa fields being promised a better life. Second, West Africa produces seventy percent of the world’s chocolate therefore they need many people to work so the percent of kids working drastically goes up. Third, many organizations are trying to lower the number of child laborers in West Africa. Chocolate production in India has an impact on many children in West Africa today.

The society can help the organizations by joining them or donating to their organization. For example, donate to an organization called SCREAM. SCREAM, an organization to prevent child labor. The organization goes around asking kids about how they think child labor is bad. There is also a Child Labor Coalition that has joined twenty-two different child labor groups. The child labor coalition has been going on for twenty years. According to the Huffington Post, “the number of child laborers dropped from 215 million laborers to 168 million laborers from 2008 to 2012.” So as you can see, there are many organizations and charities that make it easier to eliminate child labor, it will still take some time but eventually, The world will eliminate child labor. All people need to do is focus on how bad child labor is and donate and join these
