Child Soldier Argumentative Analysis

Amnesty is a great thing, whether it's a parking ticket or a trespassing ticket. But at some point, amnesty should not be given. The cold blooded killers, child soldiers, are an example of criminals that should not get amnesty. Child soldiers, should be prosecuted for their crimes. The reasons for their prosecution are very simple: they have committed horrific crimes, had a choice not to fight, and are a threat to national security. Not many people echo the idea that child soldiers should be prosecuted for their horrific crimes, but these people are wrong. An example could be Omar Khadr, it states in the article, The Child Soldier on Trial at Guantanamo (2015)”... Khadr threw a grenade that killed Speer and wounded others”(pg1) This is one example of horrible crimes because not only did he kill one person but he wounded others. It states in the Article The Child Soldier, ”Khadr's father took him to visit al Qaeda leaders when he was 10 and to a military training camp when he was 15.”(pg3) It also stated,¨He claimed the day he planted land mines to kill U.S. and coalition forces was the happiest day of his life.”(pg2) These are two great examples of how child soldiers are a threat to national security because once these children enter the world of crime and violence, It only gets worse.
