Paper 1
Child stars We can all think of a child star. Maybe a young girl or little boy with personality that shines through the television screen. Maybe it's their infectious smile or stunning looks but it's so hard to not fall in love with them. You watch them on tv and even watch as they grow up and their savings accounts grow too. What happens when the show stops? Where do you these children grow from there? Some may go on to have more acting jobs as adults. Others may even just go on to live a normal life by getting married and having children in the suburbs. There's a few though that go on a different path. They turn to drugs, alcohol, and other careless behavior. These good kids go bad. When child stars take that wrong turn, it won't be long until we see their face in the tabloids. The general public loves a good a story and paparazzi and tabloid executives pounce on anything that sells. A once innocent child to a now adult in and out of rehab is a good story that sells. Possibly one of the most thought of ex child stars that went bad might be Lindsay Lohan. At the age 11, Lindsay achieved fame by starring in the hit remake "The Parent Trap". Lindsay then went on to star in multiple Disney movies and independent films making a name for herself. Upon leaving her teenage years, Lindsay had many personal issues in the press. Eating disorders rumors, criminal charges, and stints in rehabilitation programs all compiled over the years and many people began to wonder where this once good hearted girl went. The answer to why child stars turn into troubled adults may seem simple to most. Many blame all the attention that comes with the fame. Which I can agree with. These kids have so many eyes on them all the time. Every little move they make is under a microscope for the whole world to see and judge. They are pressured to be the perfect role model and mold of a child. Once that spot light is gone and the attention is lost, many crack the mold.
