It is a human service organization that evolved over many years. “According to Lewis, Packard, and Lewis (2007), the goals of human service organizations are always focused on making life better for the population they serve” (). However, children of color are failed by the system that was designed to protect them. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (2009) there were 463,000 children in the foster care system.” Minority children egress more lackadaisically out of the child welfare system. Children of color do not reap the same of those children that are white. Chances of being adopted are very slim to none due the fact that they are of a different race.
In conclusion, the child care system has not given its best effort to ensure that every child that has made its way through the foster system has been serviced adequately. Children that re minorities deserve the same opportunities as the white children receive.
