Bullet Shells and blood everywhere. Loud noises all through the night. That's what these kids have to go through. These young children are being forced to go to war and kill. Should kids be granted amnesty or punishment? Although kids have killed people, they should be granted amnesty because they were forced to do all those bad and horrific things.
Child soldiers should be granted amnesty because of what they have gone through. In the article “Children in Somalia Facing War Crimes” the author said, “ . . . recruited as child soldiers, denied access to education and killed or injured in indiscriminate attacks carried out in densely populated areas” ("Children in Somalia."). Commanders are using children to do their killing job and that is not right. Second, in the article “Summative Essay” the author stated, “ child soldiers are generally considered children under the age of 18, however, despite this child soldiers younger than 18 are often prosecuted” ("Child Soldiers- Summative Essay"). I do not think that kids under the age of 18 should even be allowed to fight because it is bad to have that stuff in your mind while their brains are still developing. Lastly, in the story “Summative Essay” the author said, “ Children at this age should not know have to succumb to such pain. Not only this, they were only 15 when they were prosecuted which means, the word of the law, they were still too young for prosecution” ("Child Soldiers- Summative Essay"). If adults try a kid first of all they are still protecting their country and because they are still under age. Overall, many people believe that child soldiers should be forgiven for what they were forced to

Child soldiers are victims, not perpetrators, so they should be granted amnesty. Though to some it may look like these kids are choosing this life, in reality, most aren’t. They either have to join those forces or die, which is terrifying for any child to imagine. Not only that, but they were drugged to kill, making them forget how bad it was that they were doing. And to some of them, that army was the only family that they have, providing better living conditions than those out on the streets. Which is why these children are victims of this terrible event and should be legally forgiven for what they were forced to do.…
