Adeline likes St. Joseph's a lot since all the girls looked similar to her, in their uniform. In the beginning, she was a little shy, but then she proceeds to make some new friends and she also wins the class election. “They want to give you a surprise celebration party for winning the election for class president. Everyone has brought a gift. They mean well.” (Mah 113). The quote takes place when Adeline wins head girl for her school. When she comes home, her friends follow her to throw her a surprise party.
