The ancient Chinese civilization started 250,000 to 2.4 million years ago. It was the fastest growing country in the world; they started expanding their country by developing civilizations in the fertile Yellow River basin. They did because the basin was fertile and that made for good farming resources. The government in the beginning was a dynasty; sometimes there was no government running China at certain times. The dynasties would fight and then break apart and not run the country and then they would come back together and work just fine.
Archaeologist found evidence in the Three Gorges that China’s origin might have emerged independently in different parts of the country. One of the areas that China has originated from was the Yangtze River valley. Archaeologist found artifacts that dated back to the old and new Stone Age. The artifacts shown that civilization originated from the Yangtze River valley was greater than the Yellow River valley.
The second area were Chinese people originated from was the Zhongyuan, which is a popular Chinese term that talks about the Yellow River valley.
Just fewer than 30% of the people that live in China originated form the Yellow River. The two cultures came together as one to form one big cultural area where they mixed languages and became one.
Pre-Historic civilizations along the Silk Road where the Chinese would buy and sell their goods, also a lot of other countries would come and sell and buy from other people. The Silk Road was mainly known for trading. This started from the Hans dynasty 2000 years ago; many of the items that were found were not native to China, which means they could have started trading before this dynasty was created. Things that where sold and bought were crops, clothes, tools, valuables such as gold diamonds, crystals, copper, silver, iron, etc.
Archaeologists found skeletons of humans and footprints of animals, which means that farming was a major way of living for the ancient Chinese people. This dates back about 3,000 to 4,000 years ago. Many of the items found are native to China so this shows that the trading was happening on the Silk Road in Northwest China. Also found on the trading routes were ancient tombs and wooden carts that were used for
exchanging.
