“We know from looking around us that people are not equal.” Discuss this statement. You should include different, supported viewpoints and your own opinion. You must refer to Christianity in your answer. [12]

In the past there some people did not treat others as there equal. However in society now, most people accept that all everyone should be treated equally. Most Christians share this view. However there are some individuals in society and some who belong to the Christian faith that do not agree with this.

Some Christians disagree with this statement as they believe everyone is equal, no matter what. This is a valid argument because the Bible says “There is no difference between Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female for we

They believe that basing it on appearance background etc everyone is equal but if a person has bad actions they do not stay equal compared to those that do good. This is a strong point because the in the Parable of the Good Samaritan, Jesus teaches that you should help everyone and do good deeds regardless of their religion or race. However this is a weak point because the Bible teaches about forgiveness of all sins and the Lord’s Prayer says “Forgive us our daily sins, as we forgive those who have sinned and trespassed against us.” This means that if we do not forgive the sins of others God will not forgive us. Therefore everyone is equal regardless of their actions as we have already forgiven their sins.

However this point may also be argued because in the Bible (1 Peter 1:17) “And if you call on him as Father who judges impartially according to each one's deeds, conduct yourselves with fear throughout the time of your exile.” This means God judges you impartially and as equals but only according to if you have good actions/deeds.
