Christians believe that there is one God, and he is the one and only Creator. While Buddhist primarily do not believe there is a God, they believe that the world was already created and continues to recreate as people do (Intro to Buddhism, 2015). Christians believe that God created the Heavens and the Earth for us humans to inhabit and come to know him. To reach Nirvana, you must follow the Noble Eightfold Path, which are briefly: Having the Right Understanding, Resolve, Speech, Action, Occupation, Effort, Contemplation, and Mediation (Intro to Buddhism, 2015). Once you have accepted and committed to those, through human works, you then will receive salvation. In Christianity, you receive salvation through being baptized and ask for forgiveness of your sins (Robinson, 2012). You also continue to have salvation by doing goods works, trusting in Jesus as the lord and savior, and avoiding anything that could take you away from these things. Buddhism and Christianity do not have many similarities but in their will to commit to one belief. Just as strongly as Christians feel about their religion, so does Buddhist about theirs. With the religions both instructing their believers to live a whole life, and one on loving one another we can live happily among each other.
