book, Music for Alice, And Christopher Reeves article all shared a common similarity between the lesson that was learned in the writing pieces; strength is the most important trait to have, despite tough times.
Music for Alice, a picture book that focuses on a woman's journey through a tough time, and hard life during and after World War 2, clearly teaches readers to make sure people are happy about life, because without it, there isn't a real reason to live. The text asserts, “...But there was no time for dancing. We worked harder than ever before...I was happy, but kept thinking what good is success if we can’t enjoy ourselves.... In the end we decided to sell the farm.” This demonstrates that Alice and her husband were in a tough time financially, so they both worked 24/7 to make the company function properly. Alice had no time to dance or have any quality time with her husband, which made her unhappy, because she loved to dance. Both gave up fame and fortune for a little bit of pleasure, and that was a brave step to take. After they sold the farm, Alice could dance again, and had never been happier. Additionally, the article shows, “During our tenth year at the new place, after a short illness, mark died. I didn't think I would dance after that.” Losing the love of her life, to a sad illness, is a very hard thing to overcome, she didn't think she'd be happy again. Pain was overpowering her happiness, and she didn't think she could handle it. A Lot of things were hard and tough, and Mark made that all better, and that is what made this situation sadder. Alice did infact dance again. She knew she had a choice of happiness or sadness. She pushed her no-good-very-bad sad feelings away and constrived her strength forward, and finally danced again. Therefore, Alce shows us that strength is an important trait to own, because without it, your life might fall apart, and you may never dance again.
Although the hard moments in life can make a person weaker, Malala was brave enough to stand at the ledge of getting shot by the Taliban and let her tragic story make her stronger.
Like kelly clarkson once said, “ What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.” Malala quoted from her speech at the United Nations, “ My weakness,my fear, and my hopelessness died on that day. And I became stronger than before.” This showsPeople would think that her weakness, fear and hopelessness would not help her to become stronger, and more powerful, and she would become scared and more weak and scared about the people around her, but Malala didn't let any of those things overpower her strength. The bullet killed all of those things, and saved her strength to fight through the tough times that awaited her.Ellen mentioned she holds no grudge over the people who shot her.She doesn't hold any grudge over the man who shot her, since it made her stronger. Her strength that she gained from fighting and standing up for what she believed in, no matter the cost overpowered her anger toward the taliban for shooting her, and made her believe that everyone makes a mistake once in awhile. She believes that the taliban made a mistake and from the courage she gained from all of us supporters she new if she was in the same situation she'd do it again. Moreover, Malala's strength helped her survive through all this crazy event going on in her life, and without it, she'd still be in the hospital. Strength helped her
live.
In still me by christopher reeves christopher talked about his tragic accident that took his eligibility to use his body in anyway which related to him and his family to go through a tough time. The strength of his heart was strong enough to run through his body and mae hm optimistic about the things he had right in front of him, because he knew the key to a healthy life was happiness, so he wrote this article with this theme to get readers to hear his story and to remember him as a strong superhero, and not just the man who got paralysed. ,” This article implies,“Reeve has gradually regained sensation in parts of his body, notably down to the spine, in his left leg and areas in his right arm.”This shows Reeve stayed happy though the tough time, because he didn't want to let his wife down, for being a depressed paralyzed person, and always complaining about what he was missing. He believed in fate and wished for the best fate, with his disability and his fate turned out ok. He stayed happy to stay alive, and not become someone with a terrible fate.. Another acknowledgment from the article is, “As much as I remind myself that being is more important than doing, that the quality of relationships is the key to happiness, i'm putting on a brave face.He knows he is paralyzed, and can't do what he desires, and is sad about that, but her won't let that beat him up. He is sorrowful that he can't walk, but he puts on a brave face, and fights his battle to happiness, to make his family and fans proud of what he accomplished. Furthermore, Christopher used his strength to fight through the hard times he was going through, and make everyone happier, and less pitiful towards him, and make people look up to him, even though he is sitting down.
Still me by Christopher Reeves, Malala's interview and Music for alice all shared the theme of strength having a strong impact on people's lives and making them survive the obstacles they went through to get where they were/are today. These people sacrificed their lives and living style for happiness and freedom, which is really brave of them to do. There strength to fight pushed the rest of the citizens to fight for what's right, and have motivated many people to keep fighting through tough times, because if you really believe you can do something you can..These iconic people have changed the lives of many people, and have inspired people to do good with there life, and enjoy it while it lasts. Knowing that people like this live in our word is an honor for anyone to have.
