Chromoband Aid Case Study
INTRODUCTION
Chromolaena odorata is a scientific name for a type of weed. Commonly these weeds are called as Jack-in-the-bush, Siam weed, devil weed or triffids. This weed is native in America but it has been introduced to other parts of the world including Asia and sub-Saharan Africa (Omokhua, McGaw, Finnie & Van Staden, 2015). In Malaysia, this perennial herb is known as ‘Selaput Tunggal’ or ‘daun Kapal Terbang’. In the beginning, C. odorata is considered harmful because this plant is quite invasive and may disturb local plants and agriculture. Another special characteristic of ChromoBand Aid is, it is reusable for the same wound in 6 hours duration of time. For example, if the person need to take off the band aid for certain reasons, he can keep the band aid in an exclusive case that is provided upon purchasing the band aid, for maximum of six hours. ChromoBand Aid will be marketed in two types that are water resistant and non-water resistant. Water-resistant type with extra strong hold due to superior adhesion technology is suitable for prolong use up to 24 hours without detached and suitable for those who are actively involved in sports and intense activities. Different versions of ChromoBand Aid will be established such as Fun version for kids, and several versions for the adults such as Stylish, Colorful and Transparent. For the Fun version, cartoon illustration will be printed for kids attraction. Design is important especially for kids as they usually refuse to be treated as they fear of pain after putting medicine. Hence the cartoon design can be used to deviate their fear of putting medicine and make them like it. As for the adults, Stylish version will include geometry and abstract prints, meanwhile Colorful version will come in different interesting colors such turquoise, yellow, green, magenta, fuchsia, brown and ebony. For the Transparent version, the whole adhesive plaster will be transparent and see-through thus making the design looks modern, practical and comfortable for everyday use.
Moreover, ChromoBand Aid will come in three sizes that are small (5cm x 2 cm), medium (8cm x 3cm) and large (11cm x 5cm) which will be packaged differently based on their sizes. Figure 1 below is provided with the basic design for the small size (5cm x 2 cm) ChromoBand Aid with specifications and basic criterion, meanwhile Figure 2 shows the 2D
