Chronic Homelessness

Homelessness is usually caused by tragic life events or impairments, such as, the loss of loved ones, job loss, domestic violence, divorce, family arguments., mental illness, post traumatic stress disorder, & physical disabilities. Sadly, If you don’t have money, whatever the reason may be, you obviously can’t afford a place to live. There are different types of homelessness. Situational & chronic are two of them. Situational Homelessness is when a person is facing some housing, health care, financial, or job loss crisis. Chronic homelessness is when a person has a disabling condition and have been continuously homeless for at least a year, or have had at least four episodes of homelessness in the last three years.
About 40% of homeless men are veterans, On any given day, about 200,000 veterans are homeless. When it comes to races being homeless, 39% are white, 42% are African-Americans, 13% are Hispanic, 4% are Native-American, & 2% are Asian.
Life for a homeless person is pretty much how you would expect, horrible. Homeless people suffer high levels of stress from lack of control. If they have to sleep on the streets, many avoid doing so in noticeable locations because they could be attacked, abused, or robbed.
