Which he then created a 150 foot long collage/mural of the deaf history and language for the Learning Center for Deaf Children in Framingham, MA, for the school 25th anniversary in June of 1995.
Chuck Baird also worked part time at his alma mater, videotaping storytelling in ASL. Which those videos of his work are actually for sale across the country. Baird traveled often to lead art workshops for deaf children at schools, summer camps, and at art festivals. In addition, he programmed at equity theatre with short runnings of plays. He was a famed artist that also helped establish De’Via, it is a type of painting depicting the life of a deaf individual.
His life and work is a testimony to his talents, imagination, and creativity. After a long four years battling cancer Chuck Baird died in the morning on February 10, 2012, in Austin Texas.
