Unlikely heroes rescue children from life-threatening church fire.

Breaking news! Recently in Jay Mountain, two teens by the names of Johnny and Ponyboy saved a group of young children from a church fire. Today, we will be looking into when and how this whole incident occurred, what happened during the rescue, and how these teen delinquents turned into heroes.

To start off, this whole incident occurred when the children involved with the accident were with their school on a picnic near an abandoned church. The children decided to go inside the church to play while their guardians thought they were on a nearby hill as one of the guardians said, “I thought they were climbing the hill and I told them not to play in the church.” (Hinton 91) It was only until the guardians realized that these children had been missing for a half an hour when they heard screams inside the church. Ponyboy and Johnny bravely volunteered to go rescue the children.

Secondly, what happened during the rescue is that Ponyboy and Johnny ventured into the church knowing they may not come out alive and as Ponyboy told our source, “We pushed open the door to the back room and found four or five little kids about eight years old

One example of why these teens have become heroes is because of their selflessness and bravery, Ponyboy told our source, “I caught one quick look at Johnny's face; it was red marked from falling embers and sweat-streaked, but he grinned at me. Neither of us were scared.” (Hinton 92) Another example is that they went in knowing they may not come out, they went in purely to save children that they didn't even know. Their injuries show how strong they really are, in fact, we are waiting on a report weather Johnny going to survive which is truly devastating that it has gotten to this point.
