Cittern From The Met: Music Analysis

The item I chose to do was my clarinet as my object and the Cittern as my object from The Met. I have chosen these two objects, because they have a lot in common as they are both musical instruments. The cittern was made roughly in 1685 made by German man, Joachim Tielke. The material used to make this was cypress, ivory, ebony, parchment, and brass. The cittern is 24 ⅞ in by 9 5/16 in. Also, this was made in Hamburg, Germany, so it is a german instrument. This was used to play music during church services and ceremonies such as weddings and funerals. But a lot of aristocrats played this, and then become more popular between the sixteenth and seventeenth century. It is mainly a folk instrument, which why it was then created into what we call
Both are musical instruments, although they do not belong to the same instrument family, the clarinet is the woodwind family and the cittern is in the string family, they both produce beautiful music. Both instruments have the use of brass in them, and with a traditional clarinet, they are both made from type of wood, but my clarinet is made out of plastic but with a wood style finish, and also the reeds used for the clarinets are always wood. But with the cittern, it also has the materials ivory and ebony, which were made for the knobs to tune the instrument and also the neck. Although the cittern was a german instrument, the clarinet was originated in France in the early 1700s. In a musical aspect, you can tune the cittern to play a different cord, but with the clarinet it is all the same. But there are different styles: Bb clarinet, Eb clarinet, C clarinet, A clarinet, Bass clarinet, alto clarinet, etc.
Both of these objects, the cittern and the clarinet, are both significant to their time periods, now and then. The cittern was loved by any people back during the Renaissance as much as I, and any other, love the clarinet. Religious or not, both of these objects have or will influence someone in
