The biggest cause is that slavery has slipped in the political system and stoped every from being able to get anything done without slavery becoming a problem. Ever since the jacksonian era for the democractic party everything has fallen apart. The South started getting eggy about wether or not they were going to lose there slaves. Fights started breaking out on the congressional floor about whether or not slavery should be in the new states. One of the main reasons that the south was
so woried was, because when kansas and nebraska were declared as a popular soveriegnity state the south and the north both sent people to vote for slave and anti slave. This in of itself is not bad, but there was a man named John Brown went around kansas and started killed people that where for slavery to stop them from voting. John Brown’s raid on harper ferry asking the slave to rise up and kill their master. Why is this important? Well I believe that if the tension of slavery was not in the political system the south would have never secceeded from the union, but that was not the case. Sadly the south did not listen when Lincoln said he would irradicate slavery but the he would not let it expand. Because prior to the Lincoln election the south was not in big favor of succeding. Only a few people were in favor. But once Lincoln was elected President the south was on board and on treck for this succession. Which The north bring supllies into fort sumter inorder to feed their troop ultimately lead to the be to the begining of this terrible war.
