Having grown up on a different planet, Superman was born with powers. Just like how all dogs bark and all humans have belly buttons, everyone on Krypton has abilities like Superman. He’s super-strong, super-fast, can fly and has x-ray and heat vision. He even has a few other powers he pulls out of his bag of tricks when needed. It’s annoying and sometimes painful, but it’s true. If Superman wants, he can choose to float, fly or even leap over buildings! But for his alter ego, Clark Kent, he needs to be careful to follow the rules of physics. For Clark, he has to obey the force from gravity. It’s the thing that keeps him and the world around him firmly planted to the ground. If you want to defy gravity in the real world, just look out a window. Birds do it easily as masters of the sky. They even manage to stay airborne for hours by floating on warm air currents. As the Sun heats the Earth throughout the day, it creates columns of warm air. As these columns get bigger, birds fly into them and ride the warm air. Just like how a kite dances in the wind, birds have full control of the world above us.
