Clash Of The Titans: Movie Analysis

The movie and story of Clash of the Titans showcasing the hero Perseus, son of Zeus are far from similar. Perseus according to the Greeks was born from Danae when she was hid away by her father, later on he is found by a fisherman where he is taken to Seriphus, then is forced to go slay the Medusa to rescue his mother, and on his journey back to Seriphus meets the love of his life eventually killing his grandpa on accident. Whereas in the movie Perseus is found by the fisherman but makes his way back to Argos, from there he is made to go journey through a scorpion infested desert, after a long amount of unnecessary film time he eventually slays Medusa, flies back Argos, and kills the leviathan. Obviously there was some similarities between the movie and story. For instance take Medusa, she was still a gorgon who turned men to stone. Also they have Princess Andromeda being sacrificed to the sea monster. Another example can be Perseus is still a son of Zeus and Zeus enjoys Perseus’ well being in both of them. A
First mistake is that scorpions show up in the desert and start killing people; scorpions were not included in the story and neither was a desert. Secondly, King Acrisius is now a zombie hunting down Perseus because he hated Zeus and Hades gave him dark powers. This brings up the next point, Hades the God of the Underworld, in the movie, Hades wanted to hunt down Perseus and stop him from saving Argos; Hades never appeared in the story. Something that did not appear in the movie and was a major area in the story was Seriphus, the place where Perseus grew up during his childhood; the city of Seriphus never appeared in the movie or mentioned at all. Lastly the Jin or whatever the alien husks sort of being there were in the movie that Perseus found, this is another part in the desert that was pretty confusing because they were not in the story
