A trip to remember!
Contributing nice photographs from our class trip would be the great challenge to complete an album, which is the photomontage and part of parcel of our portfolio assignment. We planned beforehand the journey to Damai Puri Resort and came out with a list of interesting activities and equipment that we will have to bring along. Out of expectation, it was just the start of the disaster that we could never imagine. The class trip was fun, memorable, and enjoyable.
The day of the trip began as usual but it was fun enough for us. The fundamental issue of the trip was the transportation to the location. We have insufficient budget and could only rent a mini van. Then, some of us had no choice and were forced to carpool in Bryan’s car. We had a fun riding trip with some card games and singing some trending songs in the car. Then, Yasmin brought up a hot discussion topic and all of us had a really fun time debating over each other’s statement. Not long after that, the entrance of Damai Puri Resort is just right in front of us.
Once we arrived at the destination, we immediately settle down in the hotel room. The bus riding brought us an unforgettable memories and we had enjoyed the greatest moment, chitchatting, singing pop songs and laughing together. I noticed that we were already bonded and literally grouped. We then took our first group photo on the beach. By then, we were divided into groups to play around. Damai is indeed a fun place for outdoor activities and the view is superb, one that we could never forget. Nevertheless, the weather was extremely hot and was unsuitable for activities on the beach. So some of us have decided to soak into the pool and just chilling around. Some other girls who were not interested to swim decided to have their girls talk under the coconut trees. The scenes were memorable.
After that, it was nearly evening. We have decided to watch the sunset on the beach, it was indeed beautiful. Likewise, we enjoyed the

This well-reputated man was then requested by the president to deliver a letter to Garcia. Without any questions asked he took the letter, sealed it in an oil-skin pouch and strapped it over his heart. We arrived at our grandparent’s house in the evening. They greeted us with an open arm. After we had kept our stuff, my grandmother invite us to eat lompat tikam, che mek molek and kuih akok. My father really loves the kuih akok. I remembered that he always buy it in the fasting month. Then we take a walk along Batu Buruk beach at Kuala Terengganu. The beach has white sands and swaying casuarinas living behind the shore, like a loyal friend to the waves. I played kite with my siblings, riding a horse and soak my legs in the water at the seaside.…

This is a trip report for the Web Science Conference 2009 (WebSci'09) that took place from the 18th to the 20th of March 2009, in Athens, Greece. Location: The Conference was held at the “Hellenic Cosmos” complex of the Foundation of the Hellenic World. Hellenic Cosmos was indeed very suitable for such an event. The place was technologically equipped, the location was easily accessible for me, both by public transportation and by car, with adequate parking space. Although I stayed in Piraeus, I can assume that the transportation to/from the Conference was equally easy for all the participants. Organization: Concerning the organization and the advertisement of WebSci'09, I have to say that everything was well planed and the conference was quite publicized. However, and this was not an objection of me alone, most of the publicity was due to the unusually large number of members of the Greek Parliament that talked during the Conference. Workshops, Talks, Posters: I attended the Web Science Curriculum Workshop and just the first hour of the UIWoSC Workshop due to my jet lag. I understand that the two workshops were planned to have only a few participants, however they were very interesting and illustrative of the struggle to determine the boundaries of an emerging scientific area. To say my opinion, I cannot see web science independent of computer science, and I think the most plausible direction is the one of information science, as it is called in the U.S. I attended several talks and enjoyed most of them, although the topics of some sessions diverged too much from my idea of what web science should/will be, e.g. the “Cultural Convergence and Digital Technology” session. I had the chance to talk to a few people about my research and get some interesting ideas on more applied directions; I was a bit disappointed though, that two of the three other speakers in my session did not show up. Finally, a few thoughts about the Poster Session.…

    My Vacation at the City

    • 773 Words
    • 4 Pages

I can still remember the time I went to the city with my family just to have a bit of relaxation since we are over and done with our periodical examinations. Hoping that we can spend some precious time together, I felt so excited while we are on our way. I expected a lot of jokes and laughter, and full of satisfaction when we get there. After a long journey on a muddy and terribly devastated nautical highway, we reach the city, the only city and the capital of our province. We stayed there for a couple of days. On the first day of our vacation, I and my brother almost spent the whole day passing to and through small stores in the market as if we are looking for something to buy but the truth is we are just enjoying ourselves in window shopping. That is the usual thing that we do in the city while my mother is very busy with her facial and foot spa sessions and my father is on the same old motor shops looking for whatever he can add to the overcrowded accessories of our car. When we get tired and hungry we will visit our favourite fast food with the mouth-watering chicken joy and delicious pasta. In the afternoon before the sunset, we went to the seaside. Brendon and I run along the shore and we pick some shells and white stones. We put it in a bag and place it at the back of the car. When we got tired, we just sat on the benches and shared some jokes and funny stories until the sun was gone. We ate at our favourite fast food chain near the park. After the satisfying dinner with the whole family we went to my father’s office to spend the night. According to him this is the safest and most affordable place in the city, I agree simply because I know it’s free. Our second day was more serious, we visit the church in the morning to attend the mass and the next scene is the reunion with our aunties, uncles, and some cousins. We had some bonding moments with them. All of us gathered in the nearest park. My brother and I played different outdoor…

On the same day, at exactly 8:30 am were all prepared for the seminar in one of the famous hotel in Baguio, the Le Monet Hotel in Camp John Hey. As we enter, all eyes up. Everybody was very amazed with those crystals that hanged up the ceiling. Le Monet’s aurora and snowflake chandelier. Me either, I was like “owh my golly, it’s stunning! Superb.” Then I manage to know and see those paintings, arts displays, and the officers on the front desk. We had discussions there about hotel familiarization, activities, just like touring us inside the hotel and their facilities, it’s really superb. One of the best part because they let us enter and sightsee their different royal like rooms. And also one of the best, of course, the lunch part . The foods are really good and delicious, thumbs up. We also had this wine and cheese tasting and the last is the question and answer portion. It is really a great time and experience for us first year student of course. After the…
