Clean Ocean Advertising
The central purpose of this ad is to convince human to stop dumping trash in our ocean. Is not only going to affect us but also can kill animals and rare species that live in the sea. Without a clean ocean, our life’s can be in danger since we need water. The ocean is the most important thing in this planet so let’s keep it clean and alive. The Ocean is the most beautiful thing on this planet which hold many animals and creatures. But in this world, the ocean is disrespected in so many ways which are also killing animals in the ocean. In this Ad, it shows an eye-level image of a little boy lifting the water showing the trash under the ocean. The little boy is trying to show how us humans, treat nature in this world. The ad explains “Just because you can’t see it, doesn’t mean it isn’t there”. Which it means just because we don’t see trash floating in the ocean doesn’t mean is not in the bottom of the ocean. The reason the words in the image are so small is to prove a point. Just because I didn’t see them at first, doesn’t mean they weren’t there. However, this ad is very dark in its own way, showing us how us humans are destroying this planet. This ad is trying to help us adults, teens, and children to understand that what we are doing is not okay. Not only we …show more content…
This ad is trying to appeal to the society by opening to us to stop doing wrong. Is not only one person that is doing this is the whole society that is dumping waste in the ocean. Humans are the ones who are to blame for the deaths of innocent animals because of litering. Trash belongs in the dumpster not in our waters that we swim in, drink out of, and shower from. The same way we are daggering animals in the ocean we are also daggering ourselves. Without a clean ocean, we will have no water to drink, water to use, water to shower. So always keep that in mind if the ocean is in danger so are

First off, the use of sharks swimming around in their tank with smirks on their faces is an excellent way to capture the reader by its use of pathos. It plays on the emotions that are attached with the thought of sharks and what they are capable of. The only wording in this advertisement besides the title on the building is, “Come on in… the water’s fine…”. This also appeals emotionally to the reader because it suggests the sharks are saying it. Alternative financing lenders can be clever in their use of wording to attract consumers.…

This emotional response is further intensified by the bold statement, "What goes in the ocean goes in you," which directly involves viewers in the cycle of pollution and consumption. The ad effectively encourages empathy and a sense of urgency, prompting viewers to confront the personal and global importance of their actions. Ultimately, the emotional impact of the ad serves to heighten viewers' attention to the issue of ocean pollution and pushes them to consider the need for action. In addition to ethos and pathos, the advertisement makes effective use of logos to appeal to viewers' sense of reason and logic. By showing scientific evidence, the advertisement provides a compelling argument about the direct link between ocean pollution and human health.…

The most propagandistic part of the commercial I think would be the song, Angel by Sarah McLachlan. ASPCA used this song because it seems like it is directed towards you. Additionally the song plays with your emotions causing you to feel sad for these abused animals. Making you want to donate or rescue an animal. In the song she sings “In the arms of the angel, fly away from here.” The lyrics make you think you could be an angel to save the animal from any harmful situations it was once fighting. It also making you think you could comfort a hurt or an abused animal yourself and make that animal happy and healthy again.…

The article “Trashing the Oceans,” by Thomas Hayden, which was published in U.S. News and World Report, states how the oceans are being polluted by the trash going within it. Another article “Managing Marine Plastic Pollution,”John H. Tibbetts, was published in Environmental Health Perspectives, demonstrates how the pollution is greatly impacting the ocean. The article “Trashing oceans” utilizes ethos, logos, and pathos in a superior manner as compared to “Managing Marine Plastic Pollution” because it holds factual information and draws the reader’s interest.…

All commercials appeal to a person using at least one of three ways: logos, pathos and ethos. When I think of an ad that displays pathos, I think of the disheartening commercial for the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals). It is an advertisement that is on TV often whose purpose is getting its audience to support its cause through donations. Because the video shows such resilient emotional appeal, it more effectively targets women who tend to be more susceptible to sentimental propaganda than men. The video is saying that many animals have been helped, but more has to be done. There are still animals out there in need of being rescued from their abusive homes. More donations are needed. The…

Water pollution has become a major problem in our water sources. People think that when they litter or dump in our waters that their little contribution will not hurt anything, but everyone’s little contributions add up to some major problems. Our water ecosystems and the species that reside in them are being destroyed and we need to take the steps necessary to stop this. Why would anyone use the source of most of the world’s food as a dumping ground for garbage? People need to start realizing what it is they are doing when they do not take the proper steps to dispose of their garbage and the problems they are making for the future.…

ASPCA Advertisement The creators of advertisements often have the same goals in mind as a persuasive writer. Both of these people want their audience to believe something to be true or persuade them to do something. Ethos is used to establish credibility, Logos to provide reason, and Pathos to build an emotional connection. The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) created an advertisement with the intention of persuading viewers to donate to the organization by using Ethos, Logos, and Pathos.…

A combination of a child in the center of the advertisement formed by using the top half of a child mirrored in the back passenger seat and the bottom half of it with a child screaming outside of the car is one of the main images in the ad. This clearly presents what the ad is trying to sell that the risk is the same for every child. The mentioned image somehow shows that anybody could be the victim in the same circumstances. The image could also be interpreted as the physical injuries caused to the boy on the outside of the car could also traumatize the child at the backseat of the car over his whole life. Both of the mentioned consequences could all be prevented if the driver exercise caution whenever they drove. Next, the image of two people in the front of the car clearly shows that they are not paying attention to the road which will cause a head on…

Chelsea Rochman is an ecologist at the University of California that has been trying to answer many unclear questions about ocean garbage and just how badly it’s affecting the ocean and marine life. Rochman believes that a lot of the supposed “threats” that scientists say ocean garbage pose had not been tested at all, and that the scientists had an insufficient amount of information to prove that the debris is doing or going to do exactly what they claim. Rochman and her colleagues studied over a hundred papers on the subject of ocean garbage and it’s effects. Eighty-Three percent of the perceived threats of ocean garbage were, in fact, proven true by scientists, while for most of the remaining 17%, the studies were simply too low-quality and…

Advertisements influence millions of lives every second around the world, this ad is a classic example that some companies would do anything to stand out on the market even promote an illegal and harming product like cocaine. The fashion industry is a center point, it crates prototypes. Girls and boys want to be like the beautiful models they see on the screen. If their role model is promoting drugs as if it was something as fashionable as clothe, this message will translate into a big issue in the future.…

John Dutton’s essay “Toxic Soup” (2006) speculates about the effects that humans have on pollution in the ocean, as well as ways the damage can be reduced. In this essay, Dutton incorporates his personal experiences as a surfer and nature lover with statistics and his knowledge of the effects of water pollution on animals and humans. Dutton’s purpose is to raise public awareness of the need for environmental protection of the ocean in order to preserve and improve nature’s status. Given the language and references used, Dutton is writing for college educated adults interested in science and the environment.…

In order to decrease the global warming effects, WWF’s campaign urges people to consider their actions which impact negatively the environment and offers ways of doing so as reducing carbon emissions. People are also invited to involve in civic engagements as signing petitions. It is important for the people running the campaign that their messages reach the public and arouse the importance of protecting the natural environment. In order to actuate the public they rely heavily on advertisements, movies and inspiring texts. What really made me think twice were the creative advertisements conveying clear and influential message. The advertisements illustrate the suffering of polar bears which becomes a powerful persuasive tool. The work of researchers shows that the appeals of guilt in the advertisements consist of arousal of the emotion and a way to calm it (O’Keefe, 2002). In the advertisements of WWF we can see the both components. Firstly, the advertisements evoke the sense of guilt because people understand the indirect message that they are the originator of…
