Cleopatra The Last Pharaoh Of Egypt
1) The topic that I chose, for this week’s forum, is Cleopatra.
2) What interest me about this topic is her role in Egyptian history. I recently visited the Virginian art museum, which has a mummy, and ever since I have been interested in Egyptian history and culture. I stumbled across an article about the woman rulers of Egypt and have found that Cleopatra has a very interesting life story.
3) I know that Cleopatra is considered the last true pharaoh of Egypt. Also, that contrary to widespread belief, she was not Egyptian but Greek.
4) I would like to know what she accomplished in her tenure as pharaoh, as well as, why she is considered the last pharaoh of Egypt. Additionally, I would like to know
5) The article that I chose is "Four Famous Suicides in History and Lessons Learned: A Narrative Review" by Andrew Hamilton, and as the title suggest it is about four suicides of famous people, which include Socrates, Cleopatra, Ernest Hemingway, and Kurt Cobain. The article reviews the life and suicide of each of the people listed above to gain insight on suicide and dissuade others from committing suicide. …show more content…
6) Hamilton explains that “The motive for Cleopatra's suicide warrants consideration and speculation” (141).
7) The three areas that I would focus on in an essay about Cleopatra would be her reign as pharaoh, her death, and the effects of her death.
