Part A) The Climate Change Situation Throughout the course of the last century, and since the pre-industrial world, Germany and the rest of Europe have experienced an approximate increase of 0.9 degrees Celsius in temperature. (Pg31 (Germany, 2010))Human-intervention is the highest contributor to the increase of temperature. In the last few generations of humanity, humans have managed to consume mass amounts of fossil fuels, which took millions on millions of years to form. Not only, are we consuming these fuels too quickly to allow them to replenish themselves, we have also over-used them to the extent that pollution from fossil fuels has wounded our earth in many areas. This being said, we have built ourselves a sophisticated, consumer society that is fully dependant on the production of energy to keep society happy. Ignoring the effects of climate change, due to our carbon emissions, has now become rather impossible. Since we cannot miraculously 'kick the habit ', humanity must search for alternative ways in which to provide ourselves with energy, while reducing the anthropogenic interference on our environment. Germany has proven their initiative in this regard, in implementations of efficient energies throughout the country. Germany wishes for the rest of Europe and the world to join us and take part in Solar and Wind Power energy
