Cobras Movie Analysis
Cobras are vicious, smart, and intelligent reptiles that mostly live in India. They are fast enough to kill a human and slow enough to sneak up on its prey. Cobras use their techniques to do all of these things. Cobras are unique but dangerous Reptiles.

Rikki Tikki Tavi was both in a book and a video, mostly similar, but a few items in the story changed it all. The book of Rikki Tikki firstly talked about the location. The description of the location was more descriptive than the video. Describing the landscape and location gave the book a better picture in your mind knowing what the setting was like. During the fight of the mongoose and the cobra the family was awakened by the racket the two animals were making. The father came out and shot the cobra dead unlike the in the video. The video shows the mongoose attacking the snake. The mongoose killed it himself, while the family was watching him.

The Mongoose was fed raw meat in the movie unlike the book, the mongoose being fed a banana. The description was a bit broad in the movie. The description of the setting, plot, objects, and other items were very plain. Unlike the story which involved highly detailed items in the story. At the beginning of the video the setting was broad also. During the snake attack the author described how the snake was shot dead by the father. The video shows the mongoose hiding. After he was ready he jumped and attacked the snake until it dies a few minutes after the fight. The video had a very different way of the story than the written version of Rikki Tikki Tavi. Rikki Tikki Tavi the book and video had several parts that were similar. Rikki Tikki also had many unsimilar parts in the story. Unlike the book the video had many undescriptive, and missing parts that the book did have, but they both showed a

It gave a breathtaking picture of the story. With an edge of your seat beginning, the video showed Rikki-Tikki being swept away by a flood. A family saves him. The two cobras, Nag and Nagaina, want to take over the garden. They plan to kill the family, and then force Rikki-Tikki to leave. This is the same problem in the other medium. Unlike the book, the movie shows the cobras having a short conversation about their plan to kill the family. After the conversation, Nag goes into the bathroom and waits. Though Nag is still awake, Rikki-Tikki leaps on top of him and tries to kill him. He is thrown around, again, but still kills Nag. The father came in with a big gun and shot Nag. Now that Nag is dead, Nagaina must kill the family herself. Rikki-Tikki stops her by killing her eggs, and taunting her with the last one. Nagaina slithers to her hole, and Rikki-Tikki is close behind. Once they both were in the hole, Rikki-Tikki kills Nagaina. This scene is very overwhelming because of the background music and image. The movie of Rikki-Tikki-Tavi has a very similar, but lively, problem, climax, and…

If you recall in paragraph 25 killing a snake is a grown mongoose's business. This is his first step to growing up. Also if his mother fed him on snake, he would have natural eaten it. Now, since he had other snakes to fight, he didn't eat the snake. This shows how he has grown up. In paragraph 56 and 57, he is trying figure out when he should kill Nag. Paragraph 57 says, "'Now, if I kill him here, Nagaina will know; and if I fight him on the open floor, the odds are in his favor. What am I to do?' said Rikki-tikki-tavi." When Rikki-tikki attacked Karait he just attacked he didn't think about anything. That time he put himself at a bigger risk. This time he actually spent time to think. He considered his options and his surroundings. This shows that he has grown a little more. In paragraph 61 he kills Nag. In paragraph 104 he kills Nagaina. Paragraph 104 says, "...Rikki-tikki, covered with the dirt, dragged himself out of the hole leg by leg, licking his whiskers." He had just gone the rat-hole with his teeth in Nagaina. When he came back up, the garden found out that he killed Nagaina. When it says that he licking his whiskers, I can infer that he might have eaten…

A major difference between the short story and the film is the setting. In "The Birds", birds are attacking people all over the world. However, in The Birds the setting is only in one city. Having the birds in only one city attacking the people creates suspense because it makes the audience wonder why the birds are only in that one city and nowhere else. Also, in the short story,…

The first difference between the movie and novel is directly at the beginning. While the novel tells us that there is a guest house where a few couples are staying, the movie shows a difference scene. In the movie, there are people sitting on the beach drinking. While drinking, the man notices a woman, named Chrissie, who he approaches. She then takes off running down the beach. The man follows after her, both yelling at each other and undressing as they run, and they arrive at the shore. The girl dives in and yells for the man to join her while she continues swimming. While he is still undressing, he passes out on the shore. This results in him being safe from what is about to occur. Still waiting on the man, Chrissie is attacked and killed by the shark. Now, in the novel, this scene appears to be much different. The man and Chrissie both walk out of a guest house and lay on the beach. Chrissie decides she wants to go for a swim, trying to tempt the man into going with her, but he refuses and falls asleep. She slowly wades out, calling one last time for the man to join her, who ignores due to the fact that he is asleep. While Chrissie is in the water, the shark attacks her and she is killed. This is where the next difference comes in.…

I liked the dvd better than the short story. In the dvd you can hear the creepy noises and facial expressions. You could also see the lighting of the dvd better than the short story. In the short story you couldn’t see the people’s facial expressions or hear the creepy noises in the background. In the dvd you could see the angles of the dvd, but in the short story you couldn’t see the angles. In the dvd you could hear some of the music, but in the book you couldn’t hear the music.…

Eric Rugara's "The Snake" uses kinetic prepositions to highlight the aliveness of the story by enhancing the father's excited movements, reflecting the dynamic mood felt by the characters at the end of the story. Frequent use of prepositions depict the spatial movement of the father in relation to the snake, contributing to "The moment, the emotion, the action and aliveness" (Rugara) appreciated by the family and readers. The mellowness of the tea drinking of the bystanders concurs with the use of static prepositions outlining the remoteness of the portrayed innocent snake slithering “on the gray wall, above the window and next to the door”. Whereas at the climax, as the father "leapt back" (Rugara) and "brought down the pole on the snake’s…

Rusty Van Wert and Caleb Snow went over to a terrarium. Rusty reached into the cage to grab and hold a non-venomous yellowbelly water snake, which had been caught in the wild and identified by his biology teacher. His eyes were lit up with joy to be holding this snake. He had a very big smile on his face and could not appear to be any happier in that moment. The snake was then handed off to Caleb, who had never held a snake before. Caleb squeezed the snake pretty hard which made it start squirming and twisting and just going crazy. Caleb’s eyes showed fear. His whole body was frantically trying to control this 2.5 foot long snake and get it back into the cage. Sweat started to run down his cheeks and drip onto his shirt. He was very nervous and still trying to put the snake back into the cage when he got bit. He yanked his arm away very quickly and immediately let go of the snake.…

At the beginning of the story, Nagaina shows her smarts. She and Nag are known for being clever and quick. She gives Rikki, (a mongoose taken in by the family in the bungalow) a scare with her clever team up with Nag when ‘’He jumped into the air as high as he could go, and just under him wizzed the head of Nag’s wicked wife. She had crept up behind him as he was talking, to make an end of him.’’ (19) Nagaina’s sly, clever attitude keeps the other animals of the garden on the lookout for her tricks.…
