College Admissions Essay: A Career As A Computer Engineer
Many people have dreams and goals. I have put a lot of thought into my goals throughout my short life and only recently have I found my calling. For example, I want love to minor in music and major in agriculture. I want to attend Fresno State Or Cal. Poly. Once I am finished with high school. My dream job is to become a agriculture computer engineer.

It has always been my goal to be an engineer ever since I can remember. However it hasn't always been a clear choice to become an computer engineer, let alone in a agricultural field. When I first really began to get a clear view of what kind of engineer I was going to be was in the beginning of my sixth grade year. My cousin who was in the Airforce, came home to visit after being stationed

With this new realization, I also realized I never really wanted to be a Aerodynamics Engineer. It was just me getting caught up in a world wind of excitement and wonder and not realizing just how much it took to become something like that. It was soon after this, I decided that instead of an aerodynamics engineer, I'd be a computer technician. As I had always had a knack for electronics, whenever something that ran off of a battery or power source went array, I could always fix it when everyone else's attempts failed. Naturally it seemed like a perfect fit to me to try and major in a career I like and I am good at, if only I'd have known that the summer would bring a big move three hours away and with it yet another goal change. The move saw me travel from the quaint little tourist town of Cambria just minutes from the beach, to a much larger and more robust town of Porterville where the nearest beach was three and half hours drive …show more content…

The biggest changes were being in a school with a minimum of 2200 students and the heavy agricultural influence. My first week was uneventful with the exception of getting to know my new school. It wasn't until the fourth week of school when my agricultural science teacher, Mrs. Brown took me and my several others from my class to a "Green Hand Conference" where we learned about team work, but, most importantly, about all the different career paths in agriculture, including computer engineering. I was unsure at first but as the day went on, I was getting more and more hooked on the idea. However, being slightly wiser than I had in similar situations in the past I realized I am now in high school and that I should really only set a goal I am going to follow through with, because it could be my major

A letter came in the mail reading, 'congratulations on being accepted into the Engineering program of your choice!' A close friend of mine asked me a question that got me thinking, why did I choose to major in Engineering? While growing up I always talked about becoming a successful engineer someday and here I was now, following my dream. Since being a kid I remember my parents always telling me to follow my dream and never let anything get in the way of it. I remember being told and acknowledge that the sciences are for the smart students while Art subject are for the lazier students. As a result, students are gradually becoming less interested in Liberal Arts. People have chosen Science subjects over…

There are many types of goals. Growing up, I always dreamed of being two things: a mother and a nurse. I am blessed to have two wonderful children ages 14 and 16 and have had the privilege of being able to be a stay-at-home mom during their younger years. Now that they are older and a bit more independent, I have decided to go back to school and fulfill my goal of earning my degree in Nursing. Throughout the years of growing and maturing, I have learned how important it is to have good morals, values, goals, a passion for something, and a good education. I have not only taught my children the importance of these characteristics, but I have also shown them that regardless of one’s age or stage in life, that…

I have a strong interest in the Medical field and everything that has to do with Anatomy and Biology likewise I love working with people so my dream is to become an anesthesiologist. In order for me to define my career as successful I want to have full days of helping others. I want to be ready to go home at the end of the day, and wake up excited to go to work. I believe my success will be directly linked to my background. When I was younger I watched my single mom struggle. I know it was really hard for her because she was going to school, working full time, and taking me back and forth from day care. Because of her I never had a doubt in my mind about going to college, it was just something I knew I was going to do, but I wasn’t sure what I was going to do in school until my aunt got sick; every day I watched her suffer…

"So have you decided what you want to major in yet?" asked my high school counselor as I sat before her trying to decide what my class schedule would be like for the following year. I wasnt sure how to reply to such a question considering it was one of the most important questions I could ever answer that would direct my life to its development. I began thinking about all the classes Ive taken throughout high school and there was one class that really stuck. A class I took my junior year as an elective, a class I took just to see what it was like. After taking Environmental Science for a full year I discovered myself and my views on the critical issues of our surroundings. I discovered a different way of thinking I never thought I possessed; the way that made me become more aware about issues that involve our planet. I deeply contemplated the question and answered with a smile on my face, Yeah, I want to be an Environmental Engineer. I was convinced about my choice and ready to incorporate all the lessons I learned from the various readings and projects and opening a new opportunity for others to learn what I did in my class. I was dedicated to ensure that our future generations would not live the life of affluence that many of us live today. I believe it is crucial for everyone to understand how our current global problems affect everyone, present and future, and that is what influenced my decision to choose the major that I did.…

Throughout High School and college I didn't know what career path that I wanted to take. As a college student, I just gained the opportunity to express myself, to spread my wings and to go after my dream only to realize that I didn’t know what it was that I wanted to pursue. The pressure and expectation from everybody did not help the cause either. So I decided that I am going to pursue engineering because it is a profession that I could finish and get a job after 4 years, plus I had friends I knew that were also doing engineering. I attended an engineering seminar along with my friends to attain a better understanding of the job and what it entails to achieve the goal. The classes I needed to take to be an engineer required a lot of math and physics, and once if I became and engineer I would need to apply those subjects in the job. I knew right then that engineering wasn't the right profession for me because I would…

At first I was getting nervous because I knew that they were hard classes and that they’ll expect a lot from me, but now I’m glad that I chose those classes. The reason why I care so much about my…
