College Admissions Essay: A Career As An Airline Pilot
A year ago I was just an ordinary MAA Junior high schooler. But now I’m a Senior and I want to graduate. I first started thinking about all the classes that I wanted to take this year so that I could have a good idea of what my future job would be like. Since I want to become an airline pilot, I need to have a 4 year college/university degree. The airline doesn’t care that much of the degree, but I do. So I decided to get a major in engineering; specifically aeronautical engineering. So for my senior year I’m going to take physics and precalculus. At first I was getting nervous because I knew that they were hard classes and that they’ll expect a lot from me, but now I’m glad that I chose those classes. The reason why I care so much about my
major is because I want to get a better understanding of the planes before I go to flight school. So that after I get my major, I can go to flight school and learn how to fly a plane and become an airline pilot. Before any of that happens, I’m planning to get my pilot's license and start flying to get some hours in. I’m also planning to get some scholarships for my university that I’m going to go. Speaking about a university, I’m deciding to go to the University of Washington because one, they have my degree and two, they allow us aeronautical engineers to do internships with Boeing, the factory that is like five miles south from the university. I still don’t know what airline I want to fly in, but I’m sure that I want to fly Boeing’s, but specifically a Boeing 747-400. This humongous Boeing 747-400 is a double decker plane that can hold up to 600 people and can fly up to 6000 miles. So it can fly from Seattle to Hong Kong with no stops. That is my goal to do after I finish high school and this goal will never change unless I change my mind, but I’m that kind of person that never gives up on his goals.
