Throughout my three years at Woonsocket High School, I grew as in individual. Enhanced my sense of the community. Also I have advanced my knowledge basis to prepare myself for the workforce and life outside of school. These are all important things because they taught me what life as an adult might be and taught me a lot. Woonsocket High was a very good environment for me. Sometimes I felt like school was very stressful, but I could I say I saw Woonsocket High School grow as a school, and I’m happy to be apart of the class of 2016. I’m part of NHS at Woonsocket High School. In order to stay in NHS, I have to maintain a 90 average or above and take part in after school activities. I’ve received a lot of school work over the years at WHS. It was really stressful, but it has taught me a lot. The school work has taught me how to manage my time better. It made me more responsible, and use my time better, rather than playing video games all the time. Also it has taught me one important thing about life. Life goes on. I took engineer my 10th grade year, and it has helped me develop for what I want to do in the future. I’m planning to major in computer hardware engineering. Whs has also taught me how to manage my time. This will help me in college, and use up my time more efficiently. Also Whs taught how to work with other people and communicate with other people. In my classes, I was required to work with other people I might not feel comfortable around. This taught me to be a better communicator and showed me how to work with others. When I go to college, it will be a whole new environment and since school has taught me to work with other, I think it should come easy to me. I’m an easy-going person also, so I feel like it won’t be that

I am interested in running for the position of Secretary of the National Honor Society so that I can assist the President and Vice President in making our school a better place. We, as members of this prestigious group, have the duty to involve Saucon Valley as a whole in order to do community service for the benefit of all. As Secretary, I plan to amp up the school spirit here at Saucon so that every individual student feels included and motivated to better our school and our community. For example, the blood drive that NHS hosts every year can become a schoolwide effort with a little more enthusiasm. In previous years, many underclassmen ignore the blood drive completely because of their age and thus, their inability to donate blood. But if we were to make the event more “fun” as a whole, we could encourage students to get the word out to their parents, neighbors, or friends to get involved and donate their blood to those who need it. And by “fun”, I imply decorations throughout the school, exaggerated morning announcements, offers of food, anything that will get the student body excited to share their blood!…

Throughout my school years, I have always wanted to help in the community and make an impact to others therefore when entering my freshman year, I joined many different clubs but one stood out to me which was Key Club assists students in carrying out its mission to serve the children of the world. In the club, we do many acts of service in their communities, such as cleaning up parks, collecting clothing and organizing food drives. We also learn leadership skills by running meetings, planning projects and more so. It provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character and develop leadership. One thing that impacted me from doing community work was the Eliminate Project which is a campaign to raise $110 million to eliminate…

Little did I know at the time, my first experience with nursing occurred when I learned to count calories in the sixth grade. It was a slightly misguided attempt to maximize my health. This small understanding of what it means to seek health started the bit of snow rolling that began to collect a bit more snow and a bit more, and it took rolling through much more experience and exploration to turn this tiny bit of snow into the more comprehensive understanding of health, nutrition and nursing that I have today – the large snowball. I’m not going to talk about calories now. The snowball has grown much larger than that, growing much as the field of nursing has grown: to encompass the entirety of health, healing and living a full life. I’m going to give a picture of my background through three important issues beyond the operating room but central to the field of nursing: cultural self-awareness, human presence (care), and critical thinking. These three issues serve as springboards for describing my own preparation for the study and work of becoming a nurse, as well as highlighting my educational goals and career plans.…
