As a part of my college course it is essential to find a work placement within a health and social care setting. When children are under the supervision of adults the children then become the adults responsibility. If a child happens to get lost the adult would then be held responsible. The dangers of a child getting lost could mean they may have been abducted, could of got a seriously or minor injury. As the trip will have a lot of things to look at, a child may get easily distracted from what is around them or could easily walk off to another attraction. If a child was to walk off and was to notice they were alone they could panic and would not have the ability to recognise what to do or who to ask for help. D1; There are ways to prevent a child getting lost, as a large group of children will be attending the trip it would be appropriate to put them in to groups with a ratio such as there are 22 children and 7 adults this would equate to 3 children to 1 adult (3; 1) this will help keep the children under control and having fewer faces in a group will help them recognise better who apart of their group. Another way to prevent it would be making sure the children come in uniform this will be easier for the staff and children to recognise who is apart off their nursery. Children should be reminded not to wander of and to stay wear an adult can supervise them. If a child was to get lost they could carry a card or wear a wristband that could contain details about the nursery and emergency contact
