I strive for efficiency in my daily life through organization and tireless execution of my full-time job, full-time class load, and personal hobbies. My classes at Texas Woman’s University have taken my top priority. I have found so much interest in the classes that I’ve taken, particularly in accounting and marketing. I am a novice yogi. I meditate daily. I use my hands to create in numerous ways. From knitting and crochet to zentangle and painting to carpentry, I’m always on the lookout for something new to make. I train and play with my insatiable, energetic dog; yes, I count that as a hobby. Most recently, I have just begun a running routine in preparation for a Tough Mudder obstacle course. Through all of these activities I have sought to improve myself and make for a more enjoyable experience in my own life.
There is one more thing that simply must be included in any summary of Ellen Gonitzke. Board games are some of the best things that have been invented. I’m not suggesting they’re the best invention in a practical way, I think sliced bread or indoor plumbing took that spot. Board games are an invaluable tool for social interaction, developing critical thinking skills, and encouraging team bonding. A healthy dose of competition really goes a long way.
