Tell us about someone who has made an impact on your life and explain how and why this person is important to you.

I do not know how to pick a person who has made the most impact in my life. There are many people who have done little things to shape me up and helped me guide where I’m trying to go right now. I definitely can not say that this person has made me who I am today because I honestly think that I’m too young to have a fixed personality. As I keep growing, I want to thank my parents who have supported me from the day I was born. My dad has gone through an unbelievable period of hard work to provide for our family. But I also want to give some extra credit my mother who has gone through extraordinary pain to bring me into this world. It is very difficult not to write about my parents because they have probably made the biggest impact in my life. However, if I had to write about someone who has made an impact on me at the moment, it would have to be my uncle, Irfan Bukhari. Throughout this essay though, I am going to call him Uffi Mamu because that is what I and all my cousins call him.

The word impact can have a lot of meanings whether it’s a physical, mental, or emotional impact. I think one of the most important roles of a family member is to give their loved one an all round experience of life or at least try to give as many as possible. In this case, Uffi Mamu has impacted me in almost every possible way. He has given me countless experiences that I honestly will never forget. He has even hurt me physically. I mean of course it was just as a joke and we both were trying to kill each other, but the point is that if I ever get in a fight with someone bigger than me, I will definitely have an idea of how to defend myself, even though I do boxing with my friends. But that’s another story.

Anyway I think the physical side is just one tiny example. The biggest impact made on me yet was this year over the summer. I was in Pakistan visiting all my

The move Amistad and the story “Interesting Narrative of the life of Olaudah Equiano” have many similarities. The three similarities between the story and Amistad are the ways that the slaves were treated, the conditions of the ships, and the reactions of the slaves. In both the movie and the book slaves had to overcome horrific conditions to be freed, In the movie the main character Cinque was captured sold and thrown onto the Amistad and into the life of slavery but yet he was fought for and he finally made it home, In the story Olaudah finally was also on a slave ship and was sold into slavery.…

Everyone carries the stories of their lives wrapped around their shoulders. Some people carry feather-light stories; other people’s stories, heavy as bricks threaten to break their spirit as they carry its burden. In my opinion, the best stories – fiction or not − begin with the famous and treasured words of “Once upon a time.” So allow me to share with you my tale of a hellion land, filled to the brim with vagabonds in every corner, and survival of the fittest.…

Many events have happened through the years which have proved to me how important my family is to me. An event which helped me realize this was the death of my grandpa who lived in Ukraine where my family is originally from. The amount of times I had seen the man I could count on my fingers. This had taught me a very valuable lesson, to be as close with my elders as I can because they aren’t getting any younger. This opened up my eyes to a vast amount of information coming from those who had seen it all. I accredit much of my success to my family members who have provided much inspiration. The event which had influenced me the most had to be almost losing my only blood brother. He is my best friend and I am thankful every day that he is alive.…

Throughout this novel there are a lot of characters worthy of comparing and contrasting, however I've decided to analyze Matsu, and Stephen relationship. The base of Matsu and Stephen relationship sort of reminds me of a George and Lennie relationship from the “Of Mice and Men Tale”, in which George carries around Lennie like a helpless pet by caring for him, guiding him through life, and bailing him out of the sticky situations he gets himself in.…

All people no matter who they are and no matter if they realize it or not, surround themselves with people who act or think like them, this is because humans naturally want to interact with people who share the same ideas and beliefs as they do themselves. When interacting with new or different people it can cause one to have mixed feelings about the experience. The opinion about a new group can either be positive or negative but having the experience is important to be able to decide a reasonable judgment about the unknown culture.…

My life has been filled with many amazing people. Some of those people have been friends, some have been teachers, and, of course, some have been part of my family. In reality, everyone who has come into my life has influenced me somehow. Some have been positive, others less positive. I would not say anyone has had a negative influence because I have learned something from everyone. Four hours, six minutes and thirty-two seconds. These numbers do not represesnt the amount of time spent studying for a physics test nor the quality of sleep I recieved the revious night; but rather, how long it took for me to think of the perfect essay topic for my college application letter. The though of writing about my dream occupation with plans and goals to reach theat dream seemed overdone. And the typical essay question: "Why did you choice to apply here?" would not covey the message I wish to express. However, after staring blankly at an open Word document for countless days, trying to decide on a topic that expresses who I am as a student, as a person and as an individual, the words of my AP European History named Mr. O'Reily hit me at full force. At the time, they were not understood, They were not regarded as important. In my life, they were not excepted as true. But four hours, six minutes and thirty-two seconds later, it all made sense. It had finally chosen the perfect topic.…
