When I sat down to write this essay I was trying to think of some big experience that had changed my life. However as I kept thinking and thinking about this I got a much bigger idea. I figured out that a lot of small things over time can add up to create a big experience in your life. So for me this happened with one of the most inspirational people in my life so far my Social Studies teacher, Ms. Skinner.
When you first meet her you might think she is tough but the reason she is so tough on you is because she wants so much for you. She was such an inspiration to me because she loves being a teacher and she also loves watching kids grow. I have also learned that she is someone who is proud of your mistakes and she is even prouder of what you learn from them and who you become from your mistakes. Skinner was doing African dance in after school. At the beginning I wasn't sure if I was really that interested in it or even any good at it but I knew I wanted to try something different. Even though it was hard Ms. Skinner kept showing us the moves and always made it fun and at the end I was participating in a lot of shows and had an amazing experience.
All of these little interactions with Ms. Skinner had a way of changing me and shaping what middle school was for me. It was my big experience. Rather than feeling nervous and like I would not fit in, I felt confident and independent. Since I felt this way I did more things such as try out for peer leader, participate in shows and help out other students in tutoring.
Overall the experience of school has been created by all of the little involvements from everybody but especially Ms. Skinner. Through these experiences middle school ended up being more than just a place I went but a place where I changed and
