Football is a game that can captivate the attention of a population. My first time watching a football game I fell in love with it, the loud crowd cheering on their team, the satisfaction of your team winning, the thrill of watching a spectacular play. Watching the Super Bowl and seeing the kind of stage that it is put on. National television, seen by millions, all across the world in several different countries. Canada has their own football but they watch our Super Bowl. One of the first football games I watched was a game with one of the greatest wide receivers to ever play the game, Randy Moss, as he leaped and made an exciting play on the ball and brought it down for a touchdown I was captivated. I wanted to be the next Randy Moss. Making those leaping catches,
What you don’t see on TV, the sprints ran, the conditioning tests passed, the weights lifted, the obsession you must have to persevere to get on an NFL roster, College roster, or even a High school roster. You never see the excessive toll taken on the player’s body. You don’t see the business that it becomes. How everything you do can affect whether you play for the team or if you are cut. What you don’t see on TV is the coaching and all of the work that is put in to playing. When watching the NFL on TV you don’t see that for the other six days of the week they have for 8 hours a day, from watching film, position meetings, team meetings, weights and conditioning, the game planning. It is a grind and if you are wondering about college football you have players that have weights and conditioning, classes that they must stay eligible in, and they still have to attend the position meetings, team meetings and practices. It is a true grind and it is not seen on television. What you see is the product of all of their hard work that they put in. That’s why only those obsessed with the game move to the next
