The evidence at hand identified Paul as more than an individual who had doctrinal knowledge, for he was the quintessential model for living out the standards of Christian behavior. In his letter to the Church of Philippi Paul encourage them to “Whatever…

It’s main strength is the discussion of the Fallen Condition Focus. This homiletical tool will allow preachers to craft a sermon that is redemptive and Christ-Centered. It will aide one in their exegetical and homiletical tasks, keeping the sermon theocentric, showing others their constant need for Christ and the gospel. Unfortunately Christ-Centered Preaching does not address the issue of preaching to the needs of ones congregation or planning a preaching series. Christ-Centered Preaching focuses on the construction of a single sermon. Overall this text is amazing and all preachers should be required to read…
The origin of the Roman Church is historically obscure. There is no indication when or by whom the church in Rome was founded. Scholars theorize the founders were part of the Diaspora (Acts 8). This church already had a worldwide reputation by the time of Paul's writing (1:8). Because Paul had been unable to visit the church, he writes a letter stating his intentions (1:13-15).…
The Old Testament ends with the prophets. These teachers provided insight on many issues facing Jews who were desperate to know God. Idolatry, social injustice and religious ritualism are three areas that are emphasized in their teachings and instilled in the minds and hearts of believers today. The prophets were great teachers who had much to say about God and the way man lived, social issues they faced, religious rituals they took part in, and their teachings are just as important today as they were in the past.…

History has seen its fair share of technological innovations that were significant and impactful to the people and society of that time period. These advancements in technology brought about monumental changes, for good and for worse. An example of a noteworthy innovation was Johann Gutenberg’s printing press. During the Renaissance, the printing press played a key role in the spreading of new ideas. The use of roads was a technological innovation as well. During the reign of the Roman Empire, roads impacted humankind in multiple aspects of life, such as trade and transportation. After the study of the printing press during the Renaissance, and roads of the Roman Empire, one could make an argument that each was a significant technological innovation and had effects on their respective time periods.…

We live in a day when many ministers claim that God has called them to preach only a specific part of the gospel. We have been called to preach the WHOLE COUNSEL of God [Acts 20:27], be it Salvation or Sanctification or Baptism of the Holy Ghost, Prosperity, Faith, and Deliverance etc. etc. We must be balanced and be careful of not to overemphasize or under-emphasize…
